Personal Work

A collection of pieces outside of career

Sometimes I just have to get an idea out

As a creative, I sometimes just get urges to make something. Sometimes it’s inspired, sometimes it’s just because I need to design outside of my daily work, and sometimes, it’s just out of curiosity. The following will be very random but I’ve chosen these pieces because I like them personally, whether they’re of practical use or not. I’ll be adding to this section from time to time (newest stuff at the top).

Gambits

Tungsten EDC Coins

Photo contest entry for BilletSpin’s giveaway. I just wanted to make something that looked cool and mystical.

This is pure photo manipulation: I modeled myself and shot it with two lights, shot the coins on their own, and added effects post-production.

This is another old piece from 2021 found during my spring cleaning.

Rick & Morty

Vector illustration

This is a drawing I did back in 2018, I had completely forgot about it until I was spring cleaning old files.

It’s a highly complex drawing done entirely of vectors using an array of gradients and opacity manipulations. It’s very art deco inspired with a modern flare. I don’t showcase much of my drawing abilities here so I figured I’d throw this on here.

#AquaticSquidChallenge

Giveaway contest entry  for Squid Industries. Contest rule was original photography dealing with balsiongs and water, photo manipulation was allowed.

Tattoo Design

Vector illustration

I thought about putting this in the freelance section because it was commissioned but then I’ve designed so many tattoos for people I’d probably flood that section, so I’ve decided to put my most recent design here.

The reflection is actually a variant of the knife (not a reflection)

Family

Vector art. My family represented in the Chinese zodiac

ph Colorado

Illustrator and Photoshop

the “ph” logo is sort of the theme we came up when I got married, this is sort of an expression through paint with the Colorado flag in mind

SNECX Buster

Photography and Photoshop

Explosion photography but as much in-camera as possible.

I separated the parts between panes of glass and only used photoshop to clean it up and remove the background, otherwise it’s all in-camera!

JK Design Emissary Lite Tech

Photography and Photoshop

Explosion photography but as much in-camera as possible (same concept as the above but much more complicated).

Food Photography

Cooking and Photography

Random assortment of food that I prepared, shot, and subsequently ate. I spent over 20 years in a restaurant after all 😅
